With the exception of some non-news on Ted Lilly, the ol' Central mainly has to talk about call-ups and playing time. The dust has more or less settled on playoff rosters with the possible exception of some injury replacements. Lilly, who had been passed through waivers, claimed by the Yankees and recalled is not headed to the Yankees playoff roste...
Since it is September 1st and with it comes a host of promotions from the Minor Leagues, let’s look at several of the most highly regarded prospects in baseball who should see action this month: Desmond Jennings, Aroldis Chapman, Freddie Freeman and many more will be auditioning for playing time in 2011 this week. If your te...

If you are still reading the good stuff on FP911 at this time of year, your fantasy team is probably still in contention for the title. That being the case, there is no time for small talk – there are titles to be won! Stay with me as we look at a bevy of non-stud two-start pitchers for week 22. Feast your peepers on the long list of viable arms that can take place of their fallen comrades, such as one Mr. Stephen Strasburg………
The business end of the season is here, it’s time to get busy and make those all important moves for the final weeks to help your team to raise the fantasy pennant.
As we like to do, check out these non-stud two-start pitchers for the coming week. There is value to be had!
Here are your best value non-stud two-start pitchers for week 14:
Kevin Millwood: @Detroit (Galarraga), @Texas (Beltre) Jesse Litsch: Minnesota (Slowey), Boston (Matsuzaka) Omar Beltre: Cleveland (Laffey), Baltimore (Millwood)
Gavin Floyd: LA Angels (Kazmir), Kansas City (Lerew)
J.D. Martin: San Diego (Richard), San Francisco (Bumgarner)
John Ely: Florida (Robertson), Cubs (Gorzelanny)
Vicente Padilla: Florida (Volstad), Cubs (Silva)
Randy Wolf: San Francisco (Bumgarner), Pittsburgh (Lincoln)
Ian Kennedy: Cubs (Gorzelanny), Florida (Robertson)\
And your “Roll of the Dice” two-start pitcher is…………….
Eric Bedard! He has super-tough assignments against Zack Greinke and C.C. Sabathia, but he should be worth adding if possible in the long run.
How about some bats? Hats for bats – keep bats waaaaaaaarm…….
Baltimore has a couple of red-hot hitters in Adam Jones and Corey Patterson. Jones has five home runs over the past week; Patterson is hitting .500 over the past week.
Josh Bell has also been called up by the Orioles to take the place of injured Luke Scott. He has power for those in deep or AL only leagues while he is around.
Coco Crisp is on a tear since returning, his speed, occasional power and wicked name cannot be overlooked.
Wilson Valdez benefits from the Chase Utley injury. Look at him in NL-only and very deep leagues only.
Will Venable is hitting homers again, for NL-only gamblers - he is your man.
Dexter Fowler is back in Colorado, playing team will be hard to gauge but he can give you the speed you need and more.
With a slew of injuries in Boston, Bill Hall and even Eric Patterson will get some playing time. Kevin Cash may get some at bats with Jason Varitek down as well, though he won’t help your team a great deal.
Pat Burrell is still hitting, don’t ignore the big fella if you need power in deep leagues…
Gaby Sanchez is hitting everything in sight and should not be available, but if he is, you know what to do.
Wilson Betemit is receiving more playing time (well, DH time) with Jose Guillen seeing extra outfield duty. He can give you power on the cheap.
Gordon Beckham actually has a few hits of late, if he was dropped in your league or if you think you can get him cheap, now would be the time to roll the dice on him.
Matt LaPorta has been on track since being recalled from AAA, he is a strong speculative pickup for the rest of the season in deeper leagues.
Carlos Beltran may be back soon, just sayin………….
Aaron Rowand will sneak back into the Giants lineup with the ensuing position shuffles from Bengie Molina’s departure.
Milton Bradley is hitting over .300 with two home runs over the last week and he hasn’t punched anyone.
