Evan Longoria sat out Wednesday night's game with a nagging hamstring injury.

The Yankees will flip Chien-Ming Wang and Phil Hughes in the rotation.  Wang will now rejoin the starting rotation and start today against the Rangers, sending Hughes to the bullpen.

Asdrubal Cabrera was place on the 15-day DL because of a sprained left shoulder he sustained on Tuesday night. He is likely to be out two-to-four weeks.

National League News

The Pirates traded Nate McLouth to the Braves for pitchers Charlie Morton and Jeff Locke along with outfielder Gorkys Hernandez.

Randy Johnson will attempt to win his 300th game today at 4:25.  Wednesday night's game was postponed due to rain and the Nats and Giants will be playing a double-header today.

The Braves released future Hall of Famer Tom Glavine to save some cash.

Brandon Phillips went 3-for-5 Wednesday night, hitting his 10th homer, driving in three RBI, scoring three runs scores, and stealing two bases.

Because of the Nate McLouth deal, the Pirates called up highly their highly touted prospect Andrew McCutchen.

Kyle Lohse had to leave Wednesday's game in the third inning with right forearm discomfort.

Jorge Cantu hit his first home run in nearly a month.
 

Chad Billingsley dominated Thursday night as he shutout the Diamondbacks over six innings to improve his record to 7-3.

J.A. Happ pitched seven shutout innings to improve his record to 4-0.

Ryan Howard hit his 16th homer of the season. 

Johnny Cueto pitched 6 1/3 innings of one-run against the Cardinals Thursday night.  Cueto now has pitched at least seven innings in eight straight starts.

Hunter Pence, now batting .346, went 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBI.
