Montana vs. Montana Debate Begins PDF  | Print |  E-mail

I'm betting this one probably slipped through the crack of many football fans around the country, but not here at FantasyPros911.com. Today we start the debate, Montana vs. Montana, which Montana will be consider the best Montana of all-time?

We all know the FANTASTICAL numbers Joe Montana put up while playing for the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chief, but there's a new Montana on the block, a four-star high school phenom named, Nick Montana, Joe's son.

Nick, who currently attends Oaks Christian in Westlake Village, California, stands 6-4 and weighs 186 pounds. During his junior year Nick threw for 2,404 yards and 33 touchdowns.  Combine that quarterback skill with his 4.6 40-yard dash, and you have the making of a future.

Nick put together a trophy filled season last year by earning newcomer of the year, first-team all-CIF, first-team all-county, first-team all-state and first-team all-league.

Over the last few weeks, many colleges were eagerly anticipating which college the younger Montana would decide to attend after his senior season.  The list included Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Stanford, and Washington.

Last night, June 9, Nick made his highly anticipated choice. When Nick attends college, he'll be the proud property of the Washington Huskies.

Oaks Christian coach Bill Redell told Rivals.com, "In Nick, the Huskies get a quarterback with outstanding leadership skills."

I was surprised that Nick chose Washington over his father's alma mater, Notre Dame. From the first day USAToday did a feature on Nick, I've been trying to keep up with his career.  The blood lines are there, and from the stories I've read, this kid has the bloodline, confidence, and makeup to be a great college quarterback; and future NFL signal caller.
